Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Desmond J. O'Malley

Question:

242 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Education and Science when the one room extension to Ahane national school, Castleconnell, County Limerick, will be sanctioned in view of the fact that there is overcrowding, the numbers are growing and the school authorities have been waiting some years for the extension. [14243/99]

The board of management of Ahane national school has been advised that architectural planning may be initiated for the provision of an extension comprising of one classroom, general purpose room and ancillary accommodation at the school.

A design team has been engaged by the school management and they have been requested to furnish a sketch scheme to my Department for approval.
