Vol. 506 No. 3

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Liam Aylward

Question:

53 Mr. Aylward asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will have examinations made into the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who received a statutory redundancy payment but received no payment under the minimum notice scheme. [15589/99]

I assume the Deputy is referring to the insolvency payments scheme under which certain outstanding pay related entitlements, including minimum notice, due to employees on the insolvency of their employer can be paid by the State on application by a relevant officer, usually a liquidator or receiver. My Department has no record of an application for payment of minimum notice having been received on behalf of the person about whom the Deputy asks.
