Ryan asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will report on the delay in the application under the Eastern Community Works Limited in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; and when the work will be carried out in view of the fact that this application was approved over two years ago and the health of the applicant has deteriorated. As the Deputy may be aware, the home improvement scheme for the elderly is operated by the health boards on behalf of the Department of the Environment and Local Government. Eastern Community Works Limited operate the scheme in the area of the Eastern Health Board.
I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to investigate this matter as a matter of urgency and reply directly to the Deputy.
