Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Gay Mitchell – the proposed changes in the community employment scheme and the detrimental effect this will have on the most disadvantaged communities; (2) Deputy Kirk – the feasibility of the motor insurance industry providing family unit cover; (3) Deputy Durkan – the threatened industrial dispute at Kildare VEC; (4) Deputy Sargent – the need to introduce independent supervision of voting by people with mental disabilities in light of alleged reports of malpractice in polling stations in the recent elections; (5) Deputy Owen – the discovery of e-coli bacteria in the water supply of St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane; (6) Deputy Gerard Reynolds – the loss of 40 jobs at the Drumshanbo plant of Leitrim Foods Company Limited, County Leitrim; (7) Deputy McManus – the serious dangers for the patients and staff of St. Ita's Hospital, Portrane, arising from the contamination of drinking water by e-coli.

The matters raised by Deputies Gay Mitchell, Owen, Sargent and Durkan have been selected for discussion.
