Vol. 507 No. 1

Written Answers. - Council of National Cultural Institutions.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

97 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the number of applicants for the position of a part-time secretary and researcher to the committee of cultural institutions under the aegis of her Department; the number of applicants shortlisted; the criteria which were applied for shortlisting; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16196/99]

I am advised by the Council of National Cultural Institutions that following a public advertisement 48 applications were received for the position of temporary part time secretary-researcher to the council. Seven of the applicants were shortlisted for interview. Applications were assessed on the basis of criteria set out in the advertisements published in national newspapers on 4 and 5 March 1999.
