Jim Higgins

Question:

133 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children if there are decompression chamber facilities attached to any of the State's hospitals; and the number of hyperbaric technicians employed. [17047/99]

There is a hyperbaric chamber attached to University College Hospital Galway. The chamber is operated under the medical supervision of the Department of Anaesthesia at the hospital with technical support, on a voluntary basis, supplied by members of the Galway Sub Aqua Club.
