Vol. 508 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Willie Penrose

Question:

320 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17727/99]

The person concerned lodged a new REPS plan in April of this year which included increased area. The documentation received was not fully complete and has been returned for completing. In addition my Department has also sought clarification on the area declared. No payment can issue until these matters have been satisfactorily resolved.

Jim Higgins

Question:

321 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the ongoing delay in the payment of extensification, balance of headage and balance of beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who forwarded all documentation to his Department and has verified proof of postage. [17728/99]

The person named submitted a 1998 area aid application for 19.19 hectares. My Department wrote to him on 18 September 1998 regarding a discrepancy in his declaration. My Department has no record of having received documentation regarding this discrepancy. The claims of the person named cannot be processed further until the matter is resolved. When the area aid queries are resolved any outstanding payments under the headage, special beef and extensification premium schemes will be issued.
