Question:

520 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children the health effects of pipe tobacco and cigars as distinct from cigarettes; and if they are significantly less potent where cancer research is concerned. [18215/99]

All forms of tobacco cause cancer. The use of any statement or term which claims or implies that it is less harmful to smoke one brand of tobacco product than another is prohibited from tobacco advertisements and packaging.
