566 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will sign the regulations governing the identification of hackneys in view of the fact agreement on this issue was reached with the industry many months ago. [18481/99]

Regulations to assist the implementation of a range of outstanding recommendations of the report of the Dublin taxi forum, including a recommendation on improved identification for hackneys, will be made at an early date.
