851 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding a person (details supplied) who was interviewed for a post last Christmas in St. Paul's special school, Dublin, and later advised she was successful but whose formal appointment has not been confirmed; if he will now arrange for her formal appointment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The issue to which the Deputy refers is receiving urgent attention in my Department.

Officials of my Department will be contacting the person in question in order to clarify issues relating to her qualifications which would be relevant to her appointment on a permanent basis in the school in question.
