Vol. 508 No. 3

Written Answers - Fishing Vessel Safety.

David Stanton

Question:

141 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reason the Fishing Vessel (Sea Angling) Regulations, 1999, will not apply to sea angling boats operating within three miles of the nearest coast line; the safety regulations, if any, which will apply to these boats; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18599/99]

The regulations referred to have not been made. They exist only in draft form at this stage and have been circulated as such to the sector concerned for comment and observation. Any comments or observations received will be fully considered when the draft regulations come to be finalised.
