Question:144 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will reconsider and allow a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to join the REP scheme. [19102/99]

The person concerned applied for payment in REPS under the supplementary measure A. Having examined the application, the farm development service wrote to the applicant on 22 June 1999 advising him that to be eligible for payment under this measure he must provide proof that he has held quota rights, applied for premia or headage for 1997 or 1998, or declared commonage in his area aid application for 1997 or 1998.
To date no reply has been received by the farm development service.
