Vol. 508 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

John McGuinness

Question:

121 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the steps, if any, his Department will take to ensure access to a proper educational system for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if his Department will issue a direct reply to his mother who has made a written submission to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19401/99]

I am not aware of the correspondence referred to by the Deputy. However, I have asked my Department's inspectorate to make contact with the mother of the child in question to inves tigate his special educational needs and to report on how they might best be accommodated.
