Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Cooper-Flynn – the further development of Knock Regional Airport and the decision by Aer Lingus to discontinue its service to and from Knock at the end of October 1999; (2) Deputy Deenihan – the need to allow for the export of live cattle from Fenit port in County Kerry; (4) Deputy Clune – the proposed loss of 160 jobs in Sealand at Cork Airport Business Park; (5) Deputy Shortall – the circumstances surrounding the introduction of section 19 of the Finance Act, 1994; (6) Deputy Stanton – the need to provide more resources to enable the Health and Safety Authority to adequately supervise the construction industry; (7) Deputy Lawlor – the plight of parents of handicapped children under two years of age who are still disqualified from applying for domiciliary care allowance; (9) Deputy Sargent – go raibh dlí nua agus na hacmhainní cuí ann chun cosaint réadúil shibhialta a thabhairt d'ainmhithe in Éirinn a bhíonn ag fulaingt go forleathin faoi láthair mar nach bhfuil ar fáil ag gardaí agus ag na cúirteanna ach dtuthe ar nós an 'Protection of Animals Act 1911'; (10) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need to allocate additional funding to local authorities to meet the demand for disabled persons grants to adapt homes for the needs of people with disabilities; (11) Deputy Howlin – the treatment and subsequent deportation by the Israeli authorities of a group of Irish citizens, including a number of people with handicaps; (12) Deputy Enda Kenny – the social and economic consequences to the area of the closure by Coillte of Cong Sawmills effective from this month with the loss of 14 full time jobs.

The matters raised by Deputies Clune, Stanton, Howlin and Lawlor have been selected for discussion.
