Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

333 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education and Science when funding will be made available to St. Patrick's national school, Calry, County Sligo, for the building of two classrooms and a general purpose room in view of the fact that this project was sanctioned earlier in 1999. [19543/99]

John Perry

Question:

337 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the architect from his Department who visited St. Patrick's national school, Calry, County Sligo, confirmed that additional accommodation is required; the plans, if any, he has in view of this; when the necessary work will commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19547/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 333 and 337 together.

My Department will shortly be making arrangements for the appointment of a design team to undertake the architectural planning of the proposed extension to St Patrick's national school, Calry, County Sligo. It is too early to say when works will commence. However, I can assure the Deputies that the project will be progressed as quickly as possible through the various stages of the architectural planning process.
