Vol. 509 No. 1

Written Answers. - Teacher Remuneration.

Richard Bruton

Question:

356 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the delay in granting relevant increments to a persons (details supplied); and the reason for not recognising her masters degree. [19954/99]

Payment of an honours masters degree allowance has been approved in this case and arrangements are being made to pay this allowance, together with arrears due, in the pay issue of 21 October 1999. The application for incremental is currently being examined by my Department. A decision on the application will be made shortly and, if credit is awarded, arrangements will be made for the payment of any arrears due to the teacher concerned as soon as possible thereafter.
