72 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reason a grant under the tourism angling scheme has not been approved for an organisation (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will have this particular case reviewed with a view to having a grant sanctioned for work which has been completed. The organisation in question has applied for funding under the tourism angling measure of the Operational Programme for Tourism. The day to day management of the measure is a matter for the Central Fisheries Board. Decisions on project funding applications are made by an independent management committee on the basis of recommendations made by a technical and evaluation committee.
I understand from the central board that the project in question will be considered by the Tourism Angling Measure Management Committee at its next meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, 19 October 1999.
