Vol. 509 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

222 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the progress, if any, in providing approved cardiac surgery facilities in Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, Dublin 12; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20418/99]

As the Deputy may be aware, I issued approval for the appointment of a design team for the theatre development works at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, in March of this year.

The work of the design team is ongoing and it is anticipated that design proposals will be submitted to my Department for consideration in the near future.
