Vol. 509 No. 4

Written Answers. - Job Initiative.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

108 Ms Clune asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of people involved in jobs initiative schemes in the Cork area; the plans, if any, she has to make changes to these schemes; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20629/99]

There are currently 2,875 places available nation-wide on the job initiative programme with 277 people participating on job initiative in Cork city. Any change in participation levels in particular projects or areas is an operational matter for FÁS as part of their responsibilities under the Labour Services Act, 1987.
