Vol. 509 No. 4

Written Answers. - Bovine Disease Controls.

Liam Aylward

Question:

176 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason his Department is insisting on having a further test carried out on the herd belonging to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny when a test was carried out since July 1999 and the herd found to be clear of TB. [20299/99]

I understand that the herdowner named had a TB round test on his herd of 126 animals on 23 July 1999 and that one animal, a bullock, reacted positively to this test. As a consequence, this herd was restricted on 26 July 1999 and has now been scheduled for a reactor retest in accordance with standard procedure.
