Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy McGennis – the need to consider introducing legislation to allow for children in long-term foster care to receive equal treatment for purposes of inheritance tax as children of the foster family; (2) Deputy Farrelly – the need to provide sufficient remedial teachers in primary schools in County Meath; (3) Deputy O'Shea – the need to provide permanent funding for the Waterford Centre for Independent Living; (4) Deputy Clune – the need to address low voter turnout at elections following the recent poll of 30 per cent in the Dublin South Central by-election and the publication of the National Youth Council of Ireland survey of young voters; (5) Deputy Keaveney – the loss of another 190 jobs in Inishowen, County Donegal; (6) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need for additional caretaking services at both Pope John Paul national school and St. Sylvester's infant national school, Malahide; (7) Deputy Michael D. Higgins – the need to devise a development strategy for the Great Southern Hotel Group; (8) Deputy Jim Higgins – the weekend armed bank raid on the Bank of Ireland at Dublin Airport and the alarming increase in armed robberies; (9) Deputy Neville – the death by suicide on 23 October last at St. Bridget's hospital, Ballinasloe; (10) Deputy Sargent – an gá atá le reachtaíocht nua agus acmhainní cuí chun cosaint shibhialta a thabhairt d'ainmhithe a bhíonn ag fulaingt go forleathan; (11) Deputy Gormley – the need to reconsider the removal from health stores of a range of health products, including St. John's Wort.

The matters raised by Deputies Keaveney, Michael D. Higgins, Sargent and Jim Higgins have been selected for discussion.
