Vol. 509 No. 6

Written Answers. - Architectural Heritage.

Liam Aylward

Question:

498 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands if, further to Parliamentary Question No. 109 of 7 October 1999 relating to the application for a determination under section 482 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, in respect of a building in County Kilkenny, she will state the reason the request for a meeting with her officials, the applicants and the engineer on site has been overlooked; and if she will have arrangements made to have this meeting at the earliest possible date. [21567/99]

The decision not to make a determination in respect of the building referred to for the purposes of section 482 of the Taxes Consolidation Act, 1997, was based on the information supplied by the applicant and an inspection of the building carried out by an architect on behalf of my Department.

While I am satisfied that there was sufficient information supplied by the applicant, and contained in the architect's inspection report, to make an informed decision on this application I am, however, happy to arrange for a meeting on site as requested by the Deputy.
