509 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the value of assets seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau in each of the years from 1997 to date. [21829/99]

I would like to inform the Deputy that the value of assets seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau in 1997, and 1998, was as follows:

This information is set out in the annual reports of the Criminal Assets Bureau, for the years in question, which have been laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas pursuant to the pro visions of section 21 of the Criminal Assets Bureau Act, 1996.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that information relating to 1999, will be included in the annual report for 1999 and will become available when the report has been prepared and laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas.
