Vol. 510 No. 4

Written Answers. - Aids for the Elderly.

Seán Haughey

Question:

140 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will intervene with the Eastern Health Board on behalf of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5 who sought information in June 1999, but without success, on the way in which she might obtain a walking frame with wheels; his views on whether this matter is urgent in view of the fact she cannot leave her flat easily due to an accident and her arthritis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22868/99]

The provision of aids and appliances for older people in the Dublin area is, in the first instance, a matter for the Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
