Vol. 510 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Reliefs.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

69 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, he has to extend with effect from April 2000 section 481 tax relief at 100 per cent for films with budgets under £4 million in view of the specific recommendations of the strategic review of the film and television industry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22186/99]

The report the Deputy refers to, The Final Report of the Film Industry Strategic Review Group, contains a substantial number of recommendations in addition to the continuation of tax relief. This report and the Indecon report into the film indus try will be given due consideration in the context of the forthcoming budget.
