Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

90 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will received 1999 cattle headage. [22758/99]

The person named submitted an incomplete 1999 area aid application form as he did not indicate the areas of two parcels of land included in his application. He has been contacted in this regard. No payments can issue until all outstanding problems have been resolved.

Question:

91 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the average market value of a mountain ewe for assessment purposes excluding any direct payments value. [22759/99]

The value of a mountain ewe is not used for assessment purposes under any scheme operated by my Department.

I understand that the assessment by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs of the value of mountain ewes for the determination of eligibility for schemes operated by that Department includes both the market value of the ewe and the income from ewe premium, rural world premium and headage payments. The value of these direct payments alone are estimated at £33 per ewe for this year.

Question:

92 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 sheep headage and a ewe premium. [22761/99]

The 1999 area aid application for the person named has now been fully processed, with no outstanding errors. Ewe premium payments have already issued. Any sheep headage payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Question:

93 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 cattle and sheep headage and premia. [22762/99]

A commonage parcel claimed by the person named is part of a commonage which has been cumulatively overclaimed by all the claimants on that commonage.

My Department is examining the various claims on this commonage with a view to establishing who are the applicants that have correctly claimed.

No payments can issue until this process has been completed.
