Vol. 510 No. 5

Written Answers. - Development Boards.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

183 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government his views in relation to recommendation 1.4.3 of the Donegal task force initiative report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23087/99]

Paragraph 1.4.3 of the Donegal task force initiative report relates to implementation of the development strategy set out in the report and to a role for the proposed Donegal County Development Board, CDB. In this regard I consider that the Donegal CDB to be established in January 2000 will be the ideal local body to oversee implementation of the proposed development strategy. The Donegal CDB will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of a strategy for economic, social and cultural development for the county.
