Vol. 510 No. 5

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

David Stanton

Question:

45 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Health and Children the meetings held between his Department and consultant orthodontists with regard to the implementation of the Moran report on orthodontic services; the progress, if any, made with regard to the implementation of the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22933/99]

There have been discussions between my Department and representatives of health board chief executive officers concerning the recommend ations in the Moran report and further consultation will be necessary to establish the full implications of these recommendations, particularly with regard to treatment requirements and the service structures and resources necessary to meet these requirements.

Health board representation at future discussions will be a matter for the chief executive officers to determine.
