Vol. 510 No. 6

Written Answers. - Housing Aid for the Elderly.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

295 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when the task force established to oversee the operation of the special housing aid for the elderly scheme will report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23500/99]

I assume the question relates to the task force which, under the aegis of my Department and representative of Government departments, local authorities and other statutory and voluntary bodies, administers the special housing aid for the elderly scheme operated by the health boards.

The task force meets twice yearly to monitor the scheme, evaluate activity within the various health board areas and to determine financial allocations to the boards from the funding available. Having met as normal twice this year, the allocations for 1999 were determined and the health boards have been informed accordingly.
