Vol. 511 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Joe Higgins

Question:

184 Mr. Higgins (Dublin West) asked the Minister for Finance if the old Garda station in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, will be assigned for use to community groups which have made representations to him in this regard. [24070/99]

The former Garda station was used until recently as temporary accommodation for Blanchardstown Institute of Technology.

The future use of the building has not been decided at this state. A number of official agencies are interested in securing the building and their requests, as well as that from the community groups, are being considered.

It is envisaged that any future use of the premises will be primarily for educational purposes.
