Vol. 511 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

226 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the balance of a sheep subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal. [25320/99]

Payment of the 1999 sheep headage grant was made to the person named on 18 October 1999.

Under the terms and conditions of the 1999 ewe premium scheme flockowners must apply for premium on at least ten ewes. As the person named submitted an application in respect of nine ewes he was deemed ineligible for payment under the scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

227 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will allow an additional REP scheme payment to be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry. [25346/99]

The person named was admitted to the REP Scheme on 1 March 1996. He subsequently lodged an amended plan on 20 April 1999 showing additional land. This land had previously been leased to another party but is now farmed by the applicant. For additional land to be eligible for payment under the scheme conditions it must be acquired by lease, purchase or inheritance. As the land in question is not leased, purchased or inherited it is ineligible for payment.
