Vol. 511 No. 6

Written Answers. - Nursing Staff.

Paul McGrath

Question:

293 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children the rate of progress regarding the implementation of the provisions of the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997, in respect of agency nurses employed by the Eastern Health Board; the reason this employer has taken so long to implement the annual leave provisions of this legislation to the nurses concerned; the number of nurses who have received their entitlements to date; the number of nurses who still have not received their entitlements; the timeframe by which this will occur; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25280/99]

Since the question refers to agency nurses employed by the Eastern Health Board, I have asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
