Vol. 511 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Appeals.

Michael Ring

Question:

331 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will have a farm assist appeal finalised. [24864/99]

The person concerned was awarded farm assist at the weekly rate of £53.50 based on a means assessment of £116 derived from his holding and income from the lease of a milk quota.

He appealed against this decision to the social welfare appeals office and in this context his claim is currently being reviewed by a social welfare inspector who has been in touch with him. When the appropriate submission is received in the appeals office the case will be referred to an appeals officer for consideration.
