Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Allen – the imminent closure of the community women's education initiative in Cork because of the termination of NOW programme funding; (2) Deputy Neville – the report of the Inspector of Mental Hospitals for year ending 31 December 1998; (3) Deputy Clune – the decision by RTÉ to discontinue its local radio service in Cork; (4) Deputy Donal Carey – the urgent problems in Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, because of the inadequate water supply system and its weakness in fire fighting ability; (5) Deputy Jim Higgins– the ongoing sequence of armed raids on banks and other financial institutions and, in particular, on the AIB branch in Ballyfermot; (6) Deputy Deenihan – the need for the Leader companies in County Kerry to continue their existing functions; (7) Deputy Timmins – Ireland's position with respect to the proposed new EU defence force; (8) Deputy Noonan – the circumstances surrounding the decision to withdraw the sale of ICC Bank; (9) Deputy Upton – the urgent need for an independent inquiry to review the side effects of roaccutane; (10) Deputy Kenny – the allocation of £700,000 millennium committee funding for Messiah XXI; (11) Deputy Sheehan – the imminent closure of the Molalycke factory in Dunmanway in County Cork resulting in the loss of 113 jobs.

The matters raised by Deputies Kenny, Allen, Neville and Upton have been selected for discussion.
