Vol. 512 No. 3

Written Answers - Visa Applications.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

281 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the visa entry refusal for a person (details supplied) will be re-examined and granted in view of the fact that the person needs to come here to meet and help with her grandchild; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25928/99]

Having reviewed the application in question, my Department is not in a position to issue a visa in this case. The application was refused because my Department was not satisfied, on the basis of the documents sup plied, that the applicant's visit would be genuinely short-term in nature.
