290 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he will meet a group (details supplied) from north County Dublin concerning the provision of a swimming pool for north east Fingal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26208/99]
Under the swimming pool programme which is administered by my Department, all proposals to build a swimming pool from bodies other than a local authority, must be submitted through the local authority concerned. While a feasibility study on the proposed pool was submitted by Fingal Swimming Pool Association in October 1996, there has been no formal submission from Fingal County Council to date. As I recently advised the association of the current position, a meeting at this time is not warranted.
