Vol. 512 No. 3

Written Answers - Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme.

Dan Neville

Question:

329 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will review the payment under the VTOS to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that her circumstances have changed. [26163/99]

I understand that this person is seeking the £25 bonus payment payable to VTOS students who were registered as long-term unemployed prior to starting their programme – at least 12 months unemployed.

The person to whom the Deputy refers in the question was a dependent partner up to recently and, as such, was not in receipt of an unemployment payment in her own right. She, therefore, does not fall into the 12 month criterion to be eligible for this bonus payment.
