Question:

115 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if plans previously announced for the upgrading of commuter rail services serving Kilcock, Maynooth, Leixlip and Confey, County Kildare, have advanced in accordance with projections; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26247/99]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 107, 108, 109 and 115 together.

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 87 and 88 on 3 November 1999 on this subject.

The passenger capacity of the stations mentioned by the Deputy is a function of the number and capacity of trains scheduled to run on the line. I have no function in relation to the scheduling of the trains. That is a day to day operating matter for Iarnród Éireann.
