Question:

119 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Defence the payments made as a result of Army deafness cases; the way in which this money has been spent; and the amount in this regard. [26317/99]

As at 30 November 1999 a total of almost £99.25 million had been spent on Army hearing loss claims; £3.54 million on court awards, £69.66 million on out of court settlements and £26.05 million on plaintiffs' legal costs finalised at that time.
