Vol. 512 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

160 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will resolve the extensification payment, headage and 1997 suckler premium problems of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo. [26882/99]

The applicant has been contacted on a number of occasions with regard to problems with the 45.78 hectares of commonage he is claiming as part of his 1998 area aid application. The applicant is claiming two commonage parcels in their entirety, but so far has not produced sufficient proof to substantiate this claim.

I am asking the area aid unit of my Department to contact the person named again in this matter in order to clear up any misunderstanding as to what is in fact required to support his commonage claim. I would point out that no payments can issue until the matter has been resolved.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

161 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Cavan will receive a headage payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26885/99]

The person named will be paid his entitlement under the 1999 cattle headage scheme within the next seven days. Part of the grant due will be used to offset an overpayment of £1,704 which occurred under his 1998 cattle headage application. To date, my Department has recouped £618.77 and the balance outstanding of £1,085.23 will be recouped from his 1999 cattle headage scheme entitlement of £1,755.
