234 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board has sought a funding increase in order to implement a programme to expand the number of speciality training programmes from 17 to 24. [26779/99]
The Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board has outlined to my Department the consequences of the demands being made on foot of higher medical training requirements. My Department is considering how best to meet these demands including expanding the number of specialities concerned.
