Question:

236 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of kidney transplants carried out in each of the years 1996 to 1998; and the hospitals in which these transplants were carried out. [26781/99]

Kidney transplants in Ireland are performed at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. The number of transplants performed at the hospital for each of the years 1996 to 1998 is as follows;

In addition, there were two simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplants performed in 1996, three in 1997 and four in 1998 at Beaumont Hospital.
