The basis on which the pensions of consultants who retired prior to 1991 are adjusted, has recently been the subject of legal proceedings in the Circuit Court. The judgment in that case is being appealed by the plaintiff to the High Court. In the circumstances it would not be appropriate for me to make any further comment on the case.
