Vol. 512 No. 7

Written Answers. - Health Services.

Question:

27 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Health and Children the initiatives, if any, his Department is taking in relation to issues affecting men's health; the level of funding which exists for these programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26686/99]

Health services are not generally organised on a gender specific basis and I have no immediate plan to introduce services specifically aimed at men as suggested by the Deputy. However, officials from my Department will shortly commence discussions with the health boards on their service plans for next year and any specific issues in relation to men's health may be examined in that context.
