5 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the progress to date on the application by his Department to the EU for significant increases in forestry premiums and grants; and when these changes will be implemented. [27440/99]
Officials of my Department are currently in discussion with the European Commission about our proposals to increase the level of forestry grant and premium payments. A final decision on the matter has not yet been made, but I remain hopeful of being able to make an early announcement.
