Vol. 513 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers Scheme.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

359 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Finance the number of times the special review group on the Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994, has met; when the group will report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1605/00]

The interdepartmental group to which the Deputy refers, which is chaired by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, has met on three occasions since its establishment.

The group will be arranging to meet with representatives of a number of organisations and with a number of persons who indicated a desire to make oral submissions. The information furnished at these meetings will facilitate the group in bringing its work to a conclusion and in finalising its report for consideration.
