184 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the extent to which the special needs of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be met at the local national school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2160/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that my Department has recently sanctioned a special needs assistant post to cater for the person to whom he refers and one other child with special needs attending the school.
