Question:

148 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the progress on a grant application under the control of farm pollution by a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [2213/00]

Under the terms and conditions of the national scheme for the control of farm pollution, an applicant must have not more than 100 income units, of which at least 25% must be derived from farming. The application from the person named was deemed ineligible as less than 25% of the income units in his case are derived from farming. The applicant was informed accordingly in writing on 22 November 1999.
