Michael Ring

Question:

41 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if documents presented to the area aid unit for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo have been processed; and if the total forage area on this application is on digitisation. [2926/00]

The position remains as stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 248 of 26 January 2000. All digitisation has been completed.

Michael Ring

Question:

42 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary will receive headage and premia payments. [2927/00]

The person named is not the registered herdowner.

Under the terms and conditions of the headage schemes, applicants for grants must occupy and farm at least three hectares of utilised agricultural land in an area designated as disadvantaged. As the herdowner in this case does not occupy and farm lands designated as disadvantaged he is not eligible for grants under the headage schemes. No applications were received from him under the headage schemes.

The herd, regarding which details were supplied, was the subject of special beef premiumap plications as follows: eight animals in February 1999; three animals in December 1999.
Advance payment in respect of the February application issued on 1 November 1999. A further advance of 30% will issue within the next few days.
Payment in respect of the December application will issue when the two month retention period has expired, subject to compliance with the scheme requirements.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

43 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a decision will be made on an appeal of a 1998 area aid application lodged after closing date for persons (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if payment will issue. [2952/00]

The herdowners lodged an appeal with the headage and premia appeals unit on 19 April 1999 concerning their 1998 area aid applications. The headage and premia appeals unit is now in a position to examine this appeal.
