343 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in regard to the recommendation for photographs of candidates to be printed on future ballot papers; and if ballot papers will include photographs of the candidates for local, general and European elections. The question of extending the use of photographs to Presidential, Dáil, Seanad and local elections is being considered in the light of the experience at the European elections and having regard to a report prepared by Lansdowne Market Research on this matter.
